Lothian and Shelter Scotland announce new stock drive

Thanks to a new partnership, all of Lothian’s unclaimed lost property items will be donated to Shelter Scotland to help them deliver on their mission to assist the homeless community across Edinburgh and those affected by the wider housing emergency in Scotland.

As you will all be aware, our Lost Property team at Shandwick Place keep a hold of all items found on our buses for 28 days. From Friday 5 April, a member of the Shelter team will visit the TravelHub and collect all unclaimed items which have been within the department for more than 4 weeks to be re-sold through the Shelter retail channels. Items will include clothing, toys, DVDs, video games, wallets and other things left behind on our buses.

This new initiative will ensure that our lost property is being recycled back into use, furthering the lifespan of unclaimed lost property and helping those who really need it.

We are delighted to be teaming up with Shelter to support such a worthy cause and the partnership will have a positive impact on so many people across our city and beyond.
